Lightweight, breathable, great fit, perfect on the top with padded shorts on the bottom for dinghies or over a wetsuit for cats or cold-water dinghy sailing. You really have to wear one for a while to appreciate how comfortable it makes a wide range of conditions. Soft, easy close neck gusset, stretch/Velcro closures on sleeves and waist. Make life easier on a major body part with padded shorts. Special fabric, lightweight and quick-drying, cordura nylon on the seat, removable foam pads, zippered, extra-deep pockets. These have the GUL logo embroidered on the right leg, and our logo on the left. Very comfortable, a favorite of Jim's for a couple years. Your
hands are by far the most fragile, most easily damaged items on your boat.
If you sail on big boats and spend most of your time waiting for something
to happen, then quickly grab a sheet that you actually handle for a few seconds
before settling down to looking for a can with a pull-top tab, then maybe
gloves with cut-off fingers are OK. But if you sail a dinghy or cat, your
hands are in constant use, in contact with things that can cause damage. Damaged
gloves can be quickly replaced, damaged skin not only takes time, but makes
the damaged part much less useful during healing. These gloves are great:
Padded exactly where the rope runs if you wrap it around your hand. Full-finger
so your finger tips don't get burned when the cut-off finger ends curl down.
